"Liberty, Equality, Fraternity"

Dear Georges,
It was a pleasure working with you as a fellow Cordelier. I remember when you first appeared in the Revolution as president of the popular club or assembly of the district in which you lived. This was the famous club of the which we thought of, known as the Cordeliers. You called its meetings that were held in the old convent of the order of the Cordeliers. And because we were the first of the centre of the popular principle in the French Revolution that carried it to its extreme point; we were the earliest to suspect the court of being irreconcilably hostile to everyones freedom. Thanks to you we proclaimed the need for radical action.

Your Fellow Leader of the Cordliers,
Camille Desmoulins
